Here is operating and troubleshooting information about our equipment and appliances. Links to manufacturer pdfs and more detailed information are in blue ‘link’ color. For some equipment we’ve added model and serial number information and phone numbers. There is also information about the septic system and the power panel.

  • Mitsubishi Heating and Cooling wall units and Remote Controls (cradled near room light switches). The system is a set of wall unit heat pumps and two external heat pumps on the north side of the house. There are seven wall units, each with its own remote control: living room, master bathroom, master bedroom, master closet/laundry, guest bathroom, guest bedroom 1, guest bedroom 2).

If a room does not seem to be cooling or heating properly, look at the Remote Control YouTube video linked above to check that you have the controls set for what you want. Our experience has been that if there is a wide delta between current temperature and desired temperature, patience is needed. (Heat pumps are quite energy efficient but not very responsive.)

Here are the Model and Serial numbers for the seven indoor and two outdoor components, which might helpful to us (owners) or service tech to resolve a problem. Currently, we call Reliable Air (‭(512) 396-8183‬) for servicing. Also please note that there are four pvc drain outlets on the north side of the house. In humid weather, the two right-side ones might be dripping small amounts of water. I use the shop vac to suction the lines if they seem plugged up.

When you finish your stay at house please turn off all seven remotes with red button or set to 76 in summer and 65 in winter. Please ensure that the seven remote controls are back in their cradles before you leave.
  • Velux Skylights with Remote Controls One skylights in Living Room and one skylight in Master Bedroom. The two remote controls are square “pads” cradled on the wall next to light switch.

The kitchen does not have an exhaust fan so we try to remember to open the skylights if we are cooking something a little smokey or stinky (and then remember to close the skylights in the evening). Be mindful that a raccoon family might find an open skylight interesting.

Please ensure the two remote controls are back in their cradles before you leave.
  • Ikea Refrigerator The ice and water dispenser takes a little getting used to! If you hear a weird chirping sound coming from the kitchen area, check that the refrigerator doors are closed. We reorder water filters from filtersFast.com [Please fix the reorder id].
  • Ikea Dishwasher To restart the dishwasher press and hold Start. Occasionally, clean the filter.
  • Electric Cooking Range, Microwave, Hamilton Beach Flex-Brew Coffee Maker, Grundig Toaster, Can Opener
  • Washer Model WT7200CW S/N 705VWGT0H063, Dryer Model DLE7200WE S/N 705KWCF7V579.
  • Power Service Panel — You may know the service panel as the breaker box, while in the trade it’s officially called a load center. The main service panel is like the switchboard for all the electricity in the home. You can see the electrical breaker box to the north side of the entry bridge. The breaker box is the biggest box; the other boxes are for the solar panels and the internet service provider (GVTC).
  • Living Room Electronics.
  • Garage Images of Coleman Roadtrip 285 Propane Grill, Water Heater, Garage Door Opener, Schlage Locke, RCA 3-CD Changer.
  • Outside Systems and Equipment Images of utility boxes and on north side — under bridge, drip line, septic system, water timer, heat pumps.
  • Outside Rainwater Collection and Timers. Drip line for front flowers on a timer. Gravity timers for the rainwater cachement container to irrigate the Skyline terrace.
